Dr. Cepko is a Professor of Genetics at Harvard University. Her research is interested in the mechanisms that direct development of the central nervous system (CNS) of vertebrates. Her lab has focuses their studies on the vertebrate retina and used genomics approaches (SAGE and microarrays) to systematically examine gene expression over time during murine retinal development. The Cepko Lab is also interested in the mechanisms that lead to the death of photoreceptors in the many inherited forms of human blindness.
The title of her seminar will be:
"Teaching an old virus new tricks: VSV as a transsynaptic tracer"
