Data Modeler

Nisha Baral earned her M.S. in Modeling and Simulation and her Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Central Florida. Her interest is in modeling complex adaptive systems using an agent-based modeling approach and data modeling techniques. She has experience building mis/information diffusion models and analyzing social media datasets from several platforms like GitHub, Reddit, YouTube and Twitter. Nisha has experience analyzing several behavioral factors like cognition, social influence, influence disparities, information overload and sentiments along with analyzing the social networks. Her research focus was studying emotion contagion due to social influence and its effect on users’ information processing capacity using information diffusion models. Her goal at Abacus is to apply her simulation and modeling and data science skills and other experience on behavioral study and social network analysis to community-based research or any other public health-related issues.
