Graduate Research Assistant

Prabisha Shrestha serves as an Evaluation Research Assistant with Abacus and works on the NIH Rapid Acceleration of Diagnostics-Underserved Populations (RADx-UP) program. She is currently a PhD student in the Department of Geography at UNC-Chapel Hill. She earned an MSc. in Forestry from the Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 2017, and a BSc. in Environmental Science from Asian University for Women in Bangladesh in 2013. Before starting her Ph.D., she worked in two research positions investigating natural resource use patterns and assessing impacts of anthropogenic activities ranging from surface coal mining in Eastern Kentucky to military training in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Broadly, her research interest includes using geographic methods to explore environmental, health, and social challenges related to energy poverty.
