Evaluation Research Scientist

Shelly Maras is an Evaluation Research Scientist at the UNC Center for Health Equity Research where she works on the Rapid Acceleration of Diagnostics, Underserved Populations (RADx-UP) program. She earned her PhD in Sociology at NC State University in 2022. As a graduate student, she studied intimate partner violence survivors’ experiences navigating the health care system. Her current research interests include health disparities in underserved communities and women’s health. Shelly is experienced in designing and implementing qualitative research studies to help understand and improve health care access and outcomes.
