Alice’s research in the Linnstaedt Lab focused on three important topics: 1 – understanding the relationship between childhood trauma and chronic post traumatic pain outcomes in adulthood, 2 – identifying microRNA expression changes in the early aftermath of traumatic stress exposure, and 3 – developing a protocol for a pilot randomized clinical trial aimed at understanding whether exogenous administration of sex hormones in the early aftermath of trauma can prevent chronic pain development. Her work on these three disparate but complementary projects demonstrate her ability to perform a variety of research methods including statistical analyses, bioinformatics-based analyses, and study planning and coordination. We greatly appreciate her contributions to the lab’s overall mission of identifying novel therapeutic strategies for the prevention of chronic pain and overlapping neuropsychiatric outcomes of trauma.
We are incredibly proud of Alice’s accomplishments and can’t wait to see what she achieves next in her scientific journey. Congratulations, Dr. Woolard!
