Dr. Linnstaedt and collaborators submitted an R61 grant application to further develop FKBP51 inhibitors as potential therapeutics for post traumatic chronic pain.  Dr. McKibben submitted a K99/R00 application to fund her research focused on early life adversity as a risk factor for pain after trauma. 

Erica Branham competed for and received a Department of Anesthesiology Research award to fund one of her research projects focused on how stress exposure influences pain-associated DNA methylation.

The Linnstaedt Lab attended the UNC Department of Anesthesiology Celebration of Research Symposium where Lauren, Erica, Jacqueline, Liz, Simran, Meghna, Miranda and Taanvii presented posters of their research.

Linnstaedt Lab members Raphael, Tina and Leo publish their article “Derivation and validation of risk prediction for posttraumatic stress symptoms following trauma exposure” in Psychological Medicine (PMID: 35775366).        

Kennedy Bell joined the lab as a Research Assistant with expertise in Molecular Biology. He recently graduated from North Carolina Central University and will lead our molecular biology studies.
