CLC Genomics
NOTE: UNC has 2 floating licenses for CLC Genomics Workbench.
So there may be times when you will not be able to find an open license. On the other hand you should close CLC completely if you are not actively using it for analysis. These are reserved for high-throughput sequence data analysis.
Hardware recommendation: A late model computer (PC/Mac) with a min of 8 GB RAM and 64-bit OS is required for using CLC. While CLC runs on the machine you probably will not be able to do anything else on it so plan your analysis accordingly.
Tutorials for use of CLC are available here: http://www.clcbio.com/support/tutorials/.
