Our collaborative paper has been published in RPTH! In this study, we collaborated with Dr. Atsushi Yamashita’s group at the University of Miyazaki, Japan, to evaluate protein expression in brain autopsy samples from 37 patients with leukemia and 20 matched controls. We found that cathepsin G expression was associated with vascular injury, whereas VEGF expression was associated with meningeal invasion. To our knowledge, this is the first immunohistochemical study to investigate the association between brain vascular injury and protein expression in patients with leukemia.
