The NC Council on Developmental Disabilities is a DD Network partner, and was created through the DD Act to support the needs of individuals with disabilities in each state. This council is made up of NC citizens, most of whom have lived experience, as well as the statewide agency stakeholders. Governor Josh Stein appointed Kenneth Kelty, Disability Advocate with the CIDD, last fall to serve on the NCCDD. Mr. Kelty also was appointed by the Council as Chair for the Advocacy Development Committee which works on initiatives that support advocacy and self advocacy for the state of NC.
