Stop The Bleed certification is a part of the weeklong program.

The Department of Emergency Medicine at UNC Chapel Hill is excited to offer this experience for rising undergraduate first years and sophomores interested in learning more about Emergency Medicine. This week- long experience will allow students to participate in lectures, procedure labs, simulation, and clinical experiences that introduce them to the specialty of Emergency Medicine, its unique scope of practice, combination of professions, and varied patient population. Through these experiences, we will also explore how the specialty of Emergency Medicine addresses healthcare disparities.

The program runs Monday through Friday one week each Summer. Days are typically 8-noon. This year’s dates are June 26-30, 2023.

Transportation will not be provided. There will be an opportunity for 2 students who do not live locally to receive a needs-based scholarship for on campus housing, which will be arranged by the program.
