Committees seeking nominations for terms beginning in 2026 have concluded their search. Nominations for 2027 will open later this year.

Each year, the UNC School of Medicine Standing Committees election offers faculty an opportunity to participate in medical school governance by serving on a committee as a faculty representative or simply voting in the election. Complete the form below to nominate a faculty member or self-nominate to express interest standing for election to a committee. Student Progress Committee Reviews academic and professional performance of medical students      1 Basic Science Faculty

Committee to Review Appointments and Promotions to Associate Professor Reviews initial appointments and promotions to Associate Professor on the tenure track    2 PhDs – Full Professors
Committee to Review Appointments and Promotions to Full Professor Reviews initial appointments and promotions to Full Professor with tenure      2 MDs – Full Professors
Committee to Review Promotions of Fixed Term Faculty Reviews promotions of fixed term faculty      2 MDs – Fixed-term Associate or Full Professors

4 PhDs – Fixed-term Associate or Full Professors
