Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD)
Research from Prison Policy Initiative estimates that Around 15-25% of incarcerated people have intellectual or developmental disabilities. Understanding this unique intersection of experience is important for providers and staff who seek to serve these individuals. Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) include Autism spectrum disorders, ADD/ADHD, developmental delays, learning disabilities, and various genetic conditions, among others.
