About

Dr. Benjamin Bryden is a clinician and educator, serving as faculty for the Family Medicine Residency of Western Montana (FMRWM) at the University of Montana.  Dr. Bryden completed a fellowship in surgical obstetrics and is formally certified as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) by the APCA in OB/Gyn ultrasound. Dr. Bryden offers a comprehensive scope of care and teaches residents advanced procedural and imaging skills in both general Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) and comprehensive obstetric ultrasound. Driven by a passion for global health equity, he spent two years (2018-2020) as faculty for a postgraduate Family Medicine program in Lesotho, where he significantly contributed to healthcare capacity building. Dr. Bryden is committed to training the next generation of rural family physicians, capable of delivering exceptional care anywhere in the world.

 

POCUS Teaching Experience

Dr. Bryden is the POCUS Curriculum Lead for the Family Medicine Residency of Western Montana (FMRWM), leading the training of residents in POCUS and obstetric ultrasound. His teaching impact extends globally:

  • Rwanda: He was international faculty for the International Society for Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG), notably teaching OB ultrasound for the Rwandan College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Lesotho: He served as faculty for a postgraduate Family Medicine program from 2018–2020 and remains actively involved in ongoing projects and ultrasound teaching in the region.
  • Montana: Bryden regularly provides and teaches comprehensive obstetric and general POCUS. He organizes a yearly statewide POCUS workshop for rural primary care providers in Montana.
