In His Image Family Medicine Residency Program
About
Dr. Chase Ledbetter is a family medicine physician and Assistant Program Director at the In His Image Family Medicine Residency Program (IHI) in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he practices inpatient, outpatient, and obstetric medicine at Ascension St. John. A graduate of IHI, Dr. Ledbetter pursued point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) training through multiple national workshops and now serves as the residency’s POCUS champion.
In this role, he developed and continues to expand the residency’s longitudinal POCUS curriculum, integrating ultrasound training into all levels of resident education. He was instrumental in the program’s acquisition of handheld ultrasound devices, facilitating daily clinical application and bedside learning. In collaboration with the resident POCUS champion, Dr. Ledbetter established a dedicated POCUS elective rotation, offering residents focused time for advancement in skill and knowledge. He also earned the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine (STFM) POCUS Educator Certificate as a member of its founding class.
Dr. Ledbetter is committed to advancing POCUS as an essential competency in family medicine and has a particular interest in training physicians serving in resource-limited and underserved settings. Internationally, he has led and conducted multiple POCUS workshops across training programs in Central and East Asia, training faculty, residents, and medical students. He has also provided instruction in remote parts of these countries, equipping local physicians with the skills to enhance diagnostic capability and patient care using POCUS.

- Internationally, with local doctors, faculty, residents, and medical students across central and southeast Asia
