About
Natalie Nguyen, DO, FAAFP, is a Family Medicine–trained Urgent Care Physician and Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) Director for the Family Medicine and Internal Medicine Residency Programs at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center. She completed a POCUS Fellowship at The Ohio State University. A dedicated ultrasound educator and advocate, she has developed and led POCUS curricula across the continuum of medical education since 2014 —from undergraduate medical education through faculty development. She established the first SCPMG Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) Workshop and is a member of the Southern California Permanente Medical Group (SCPMG) Urgent Care Symposium Committee.
Dr. Nguyen has served in leadership roles within national and international organizations, including the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Society of Clinical Ultrasound Fellowships, the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, and the National Board of Echocardiography. Her professional mission is to elevate patient care and physician experience while improving efficiency within local and regional health systems. Early in her career, she found that bringing POCUS into the forefront of medicine meets these goals and more.
Outside of medicine, she enjoys warm-water scuba diving with her husband and looks forward to exploring California’s colder waters next.
