About

Dr. Roten is a family physician at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  He completed his medical school and family medicine residency at UNC, followed by a year as chief resident, where he focused on expanding his training in POCUS and inpatient procedures.  More recently, Dr. Roten has worked on completing the STFM POCUS Educator’s Certificate.  He currently serves as the Site Director for the UNC Family Medicine Residency Program in Siler City, NC, where residents in the FQHC track complete their training.  In addition to outpatient primary care, he works as a hospitalist at a Critical Access Hospital in Siler City, in addition to attending on the teaching service at UNC.  Dr. Roten has worked on teaching POCUS to residents and medical students since residency through conference sessions, small groups, and simulation center trainings.
