Genetics and Molecular Biology Graduate Students Riya Gohil and Micah Hysong

Congratulation to Genetics and Molecular Biology Graduate Students Riya Gohil (Jill Dowen Lab) and Micah Hysong (Laura Raffield Lab), who were both selected in the top ten for the 2025 Three Minute Thesis!

The Three Minute Thesis (3MT) is an academic competition where graduate students have just three minutes to explain the breadth and significance of their research project to a non-specialist audience. Two GMB students are among the ten UNC finalists: Riya Gohil and Micah Hysong. The first-place finisher will have the opportunity to represent UNC at the regional 3MT competition in Baton Rouge, LA.  There is also a People’s Choice Award where audience members get to vote for their favorite presentation. All graduate students are welcome to attend! Please come cheer on your colleagues!
