Dr. Harrop was part of a team of authors, led by Desi Jones (former RA, now PhD student at UT Dallas), that published the first study extending the NIH Toolbox to autistic youth in the Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders. The NIH Toolbox is an iPad based measure that provides quick and accessible cognitive tasks. While autistic youth had lower completion rates than non-autistic youth, the measure was accessible to children and provides other longer tasks.
