Dr. Harrop, lab manager, Cathy Perry, and graduate students, Orla Putnam and Maddie Swisher all attended the 2022 Conference for the International Society for Autism Research in Austin in May. After two years of remote conferencing, the lab was excited to present three posters and two talks. Orla presented her data from the Gendered Experiences of Autism Research (GEAR) study and Dr. Harrop presented data from 20 years of UNC TEACCH diagnostic data to examine how rates of diagnoses have changed overtime for females relative to males. Claire Klein (UNC TEACCH, Doctoral Student in Clinical Psychology) presented data on the adaptive behavior profiles of autistic males and females. Master’s student, Maddie Swisher, presented data on focused interests and camouflaging in autistic adults. Finally, lab manager, Cathy, presented data from our COVID-19 impact project. We are looking forward to Stockholm 2023!
