Dr. Harrop, together with graduate students Orla Putnam (SPHS), Claire Klein (Clinical Psychology), research manager Elena Lemarche and faculty Brianne Tomaszewski and Laura Klinger (UNC TEACCH) recently published 20 years of statewide diagnostic data from UNC TEACCH clinics demonstrating that more females are being diagnosed with autism in the state overtime. Described by one reviewer as a “precious dataset”, our team tracked the age of diagnosis over time as well, finding that the age of diagnosis remained stable for both males and females, yet females were more likely to be classed as “late diagnosed.” The paper was published in the Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry
