Dr. Harrop presented to clinical psychologists across the state at the North Carolina Psychological Association 2024 Conference. During this webinar, Dr. Harrop discussed research surrounding sex differences and sex-related issues in autism and presented examples from our research.

Dr. Harrop recently travelled to the midwest to give talks to two IDDRCs on our lab’s research on sex differences in autism. Dr. Harrop was hosted by the Waisman Center (University of Wisconsin, Madison) and the Hawk-IDDRC (University of Iowa).

Research Assistants Amanda Neal and Maia Karpinsky presented their posters at the Society For Clinical Psychology (APA Division 12) Inaugural Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. Amanda presented her research on markers of executive functioning. Maia presented her research on autism-related TikTok content.

Dr. Harrop was on of the invited speakers at the 14th Annual Insights to Autism hosted by the Eastern Virginia Medical School. She presented our lab’s work on sex differences in autism to researchers and clinicians from across Virginia. Thank you EVMC for the invite!

4th year graduate student, Orla Putnam (SPHS), was awarded her 2nd predoctoral fellowship! She received a prestigious Ruth L. Kirschstein Predoctoral Individual National Research Service Award (F31) from NIDCD to support her doctoral dissertation work. Dr. Harrop was one of the invited speakers at the 2023 UNC TEACCH Autism Conference. The focus of the conference was Diversity in Autism and Dr. Harrop presented on females on the autism spectrum.
