Dr. Harrop, together with Dr. Julie Austen (FPG) were recently awarded an NC TraCS Stakeholder Engagement Award to work with neurodiverse youth and clinicians/community organizations that serve them to work towards a more inclusive model of care. We are excited to get this important project up and running.

Jessie’s Graduate Student Symposium, “Masks, mandates, and mourning: Individuals with Neurodevelopmental and genetic disorders and their families during the time of the COVID-19 global pandemic”, was accepted to the 2021 Gatlinburg Conference. Jessie will lead the symposium, with presentations from two other graduate students, and Dr. Brian Boyd will be the discussant.

In Spring 2021, we welcomed Allison Benedict and Maddie Swisher to the lab. Allison is a first-year masters student in the SPHS program. She will be mostly working on our COVID-19 research project and our anxiety project. Maddie Swisher is a second-year masters student in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health...
