The 2024 Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry study led by Dr. Harrop analyzing statewide trends in autism diagnoses over a 20 year period was nominated as one of the Interagency Autism Cooridnating Committee’s top advances in autism research in 2024.

Mags McAllister leads Autism Research publication characterizing echolalia in autism.

January 14, 2026
2nd year grad student, Mags McAllister, led a recent publication using the Simons Simplex Collection (SSC) characterizing echolalia and related behaviors in autism. Published in Autism Research, the study found echolalia serves as both functional communication and a repetitive behavior, with differential associations with age and verbal ability.
