Second-year Physician Assistant Studies student Andre Braima has received a grant from the North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants (NCAPA). Braima will use the funds to attend the American Association of Physician Assistants’ Leadership and Advocacy Summit, to be held at the end of March.
Braima, from western Kentucky, is a nontraditional student who worked as a high school science teacher for seven years before pursuing PA school. He said the grant will allow him to continue leadership and advocacy efforts within the PA profession, in addition to expanding the reach and footprint of diversity of PAs.
