Clinical Assistant Professor
Jenny, a distinguished alumna of the University of North Carolina (UNC) Physician Assistant (PA) Program, graduated with the class of 2018, earning not only her degree but also the distinguished Scholastic Leadership Award. For the past five years, she has been a practicing PA in Neuro-Ophthalmology at Duke University. In this role, Jenny has extended her expertise to not only her fellow North Carolinians but also patients from surrounding states, addressing a spectrum of neuro-ophthalmologic conditions, including brain tumors, eye strokes, optic nerve disorders, double vision, cranial nerve disorders, and brain disorders affecting vision.
Notably, Jenny played a pivotal role in the establishment of the first multidisciplinary Eye Stroke Clinic, working closely with esteemed mentors Dr. Chantal Boisvert and Dr. Brian Mac Grory. Specializing in the treatment of patients with retinal artery occlusion and other vision-impairing strokes.
Beyond her clinical accomplishments, Jenny has actively contributed to the education of future Physician Assistant students. She has served as a dedicated clinical preceptor and adjunct faculty member for the University of North Carolina, sharing her wealth of experience and knowledge.
Before embarking on her PA journey, Jenny dedicated over a decade to working with underserved and rural populations in her home state of Alaska. This transformative experience fueled her passion for healthcare, ultimately inspiring her to become a PA. Now, as she prepares to return to her alma mater, Jenny is eager to contribute to the UNC PA program’s mission of training future PAs to serve in both rural and urban medically underserved areas.
She is excited to join the UNC PA program and the UNC community at large and looks forward to actively engaging with students during this pivotal juncture in their educational journey.
