Adjunct Assistant Professor

Dr. Jakharia is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary Diseases and Critical Care Medicine at UNC. He believes in educating patients about their conditions, so as to allow for a better doctor-patient relationship. Medical systems may be different in different parts of the world, but, caring for his patients, being there for them, and empowering them to help breathe better remains the same everywhere. One size does not fit all, and therefore, he strives to provide his patients with the best possible individualistic approach in their care. Change is the only thing that remains constant, and Dr. Jakharia truly believes in improving himself and his patients’ health to the best of his abilities.

Dr. Jakharia’s areas of interest include Non-CF Bronchiectasis, COPD, Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia, Critical Care Medicine, Quality Improvement, Medical Education. He speaks multiple languages, including English, Hindi, Gujarati and Marathi.
