Assistant Professor

Nicholas Wiley, PA-C, is a physician assistant who has been a part of the Jaycee Burn Center for five years. His professional role as a physician assistant was shaped when Nicholas served in the navy for ten years. During that time, he held the role of an Independent Duty Corpsman assigned to Marine Corps units. Additionally, he served as an instructor at the Special Forces Medical Sergeant Course for 4 years. He served in the continental United States and deployed overseas.

Beginning as a guest lecturer for the UNC PA Program in 2019, Nicholas was brought on as an assistant professor in 2022. He is hoping to bring his experience working in a burn surgical specialty to the PA program’s didactic year. He also hopes to support the UNC PA Program’s goal of recruiting and enrolling non-traditional students to include veterans, with a focus of helping students transition from a military to a civilian setting.

Nicholas has called North Carolina his home since 2006. He enjoys spending his spare time gardening, cooking and exploring North Carolina with his wife and two children.
