Matt Huemmer, MBA, MHA, CLSSGB, CLSSBB

Matt joined UNC Healthcare after spending 15 years in the pharmaceutical industry where he held multiple roles related to process/quality improvement in operations and consulting. He has a BA in Journalism from UNC’s Hussman School of Journalism and Media, a MBA from Duke’s Fuqua School of Business, and a MHA from UNC’s Gillings School of Public Health and is a lean six sigma master black belt. Matt stood up and managed the UNC System Sepsis Collaboration, helped establish the Service Line Leader bimonthly meetings, and piloted the Improvement Leaders Program. He has worked on quality improvement projects in multiple areas including, alcohol withdrawal symptoms, restrictive interventions, endocarditis, penicillin allergy delabeling, parenteral nutrition, ECMO, nerve blocks, suicidal ideation, opioid use disorder, dementia, caregiver support, undiagnosed cancer and more.
