Stephenie Fenton-Wilhelm serves as Vice President of Risk Management and Accreditation for UNC Medical Center. Stephenie oversees the Medical Center’s risk management strategy and operations, claims and litigation, accreditation, patient safety event reporting, and self-insurance and commercial insurance programs. Stephenie also co-chairs the Patient Safety Subcommittee of the Medical Center Improvement Council. Prior to joining UNC Health, Stephenie was the Director of Risk Consulting for Stanford Health Care and Stanford Children’s Health. Stephenie oversaw all risk management consulting engagements and operations and developed claim and litigation strategy. Stephenie uses her experience as a healthcare risk manager, attorney, and insurance broker to design effective risk management programs and strategies to improve patient safety and reduce risks for UNC Medical Center.
