Thiri Lin is a fourth-year medical student from Charlotte, NC. She became interested in QI after realizing that to be able to address areas of need and advocate change, QI must be a part of her work. This year, Thiri is working with Dr. Brandon Waters from UNC Division of Epilepsy to improve the utilization of epilepsy surgery as a treatment for medically refractory epilepsy. She plans to implement a standardized protocol in Epilepsy Monitoring Unit at UNC to identify qualified surgical candidates as well as develop interventions to improve patient education.
