Class of 2026 Hooding Ceremony

• Graduates may order regalia (gown, tam or mortarboard, tassel, hood) from the UNC Student Stores.
  • You will need the green and black Doctor of Medicine gown, a UNC hood, and a six-sided tam.
  • The hood is black and green on the outside, and Carolina blue with white stripes on the inside.
  • Your tassel should be green. However, if you already have a tassel of another color, you do NOT need to exchange it for another. Similarly, if you already have a four-sided mortarboard or eight-sided tam, you do NOT need to change it.
• No additional paraphernalia (e.g., stoles, pins, decoration of hats, etc.) may be worn beyond any SOM or UNC-issued honor cords.
• Three “hooders” will be appointed by the School of Medicine. Graduates may not request a family member or other loved one to hood them.

Guest Information:

• No tickets will be required for guest entry.
• Clear bag policy (subject to change): Guests may bring a clear plastic bag no larger than 12 x 6 x 12 inches or a small clutch purse no larger than 4.5 x 6.5 inches.
• View the guest parking information. Shuttles from Hedrick Park & Ride will start at 7:30 a.m.
• The main entrance (adjacent to Hooker Fields) at Carmichael Arena is accessible for guests with disabilities. These guests will enter AND exit through the far right doors at the main entrance.
