Peer Support Advocates (PSA)

Hiya everyone!! I’m Lyndsay, and I’m so excited to be a Peer Advocate for Dent College this year! I grew up in Leesburg, VA, and I attended Appalachian State for undergrad. After graduating in 2023, I spent my gap years in Chapel Hill working as a scribe in the UNC ED. In my free time, I enjoy running, playing pickleball, hiking, traveling, and honestly anything outdoors 🙂

Howdy folks! My name is Jonas, I’m an NC native but spent some years in Colorado and Alaska before starting my undergrad at UNC Chapel Hill. Before becoming a double Tar Heel and joining the UNC SoM I spent a year working as a CMA in the beautiful town of Sylva, NC. In my free time I enjoy playing music, working out, hiking, and learning how to fish. Every person’s journey into medicine has unique twists and turns, and medical school itself is no different! As your Dimock peer advocate, my goal is to facilitate your personal growth and academic success here at UNC SoM – feel free to reach out with any questions, and I will see you around!

Hello! My name is Kit and I am from Davis, CA. After graduating from Stanford University in 2021, I took two gap-years as an AmeriCorps volunteer in Asheville, NC. Outside of class, I practice Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and am learning how to crochet. I am excited to plan events and get to know all of you. Please reach out if you need anything!

Hi hi! My name is Miranda Tran, and I am beyond thrilled to be your foundation phase peer advocate for Simkins! I am from Cary, NC, and I graduated from UNC-CH in 2024. Before coming to medical school, I worked as a nursing assistant at UNC Children’s. Outside of school, I love baking, reading, running, and trying everything at Trader Joe’s. Hey y’all, my name is Peyton! I am from Mint Hill, NC (just outside of Charlotte) and graduated from UNC Chapel Hill in 2022. I did a little bit of everything in my gap years, but outside of medicine my favorite things to do are going fishing, hanging out with friends, and spending time outside. If any of that sounds fun, hit my line and let’s do it! I am super excited to be acting as an advocate for Williamson college, the best college in the entire program (it really is, I am passionate about this).
