Dr. Amit Gupta is a general gastroenterologist and a bilingual medical provider with a focused clinic for Spanish speaking patients. He grew up in North Carolina and went to UNC for both college and medical school before couples matching with his wife (Dr. Priyanka Rao a pediatrician at UNC) to the University of Michigan where he completed his residency, a chief year, and GI fellowship. Dr. Gupta returned to UNC as faculty in 2020. He enjoys working with medical students, residents, and fellows, and is actively involved in multiple teaching and advising roles. He has a passion for educational innovation, trainee wellness, and professionalism, and has completed a Master of Health Professions Education through the University of Michigan. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and children, exploring the outdoors, traveling, and cheering for the Tar Heels!
