Geriatric Fellow
About
Dominic grew up in the Apex and Fuquay Varina area of North Carolina and attended Davidson College, where he graduated with High Honors in Hispanic Studies. After graduation from Davidson, Dominic worked for the Palo Alto Medical Foundation Innovation Center to develop and deploy a community health project aimed at reducing social isolation and loneliness in seniors. Then at Stanford School of Medicine Clinical Excellence Research Center he coordinated a postdoc design fellowship which developed new care delivery models to reduce healthcare costs. Interested in caring for Spanish-speaking patients, he attended medical school at Ponce Health Sciences University in Puerto Rico. Dominic completed internal medicine residency at UNC Chapel Hill, where his passion for geriatric medicine deepened and led him to pursue fellowship training with a special interest in caring for Spanish-speaking patients and the LGBTQ community. His research interests include dementia and functional status, polypharmacy, and the intersection of medical and psychiatric disease. In his free time, Dominic enjoys running, film and literature, and being with his dog, Biscuit
