The UNC Liver Center is comprised of six faculty members and multiple advanced practice providers and nurses, all of whom are committed to providing excellent patient care that is timely, effective, and efficient. We see patients at clinics in Chapel Hill, NC as well as across a network of satellite clinics that allow us to extend access to care for patients across the state of North Carolina.

Our team provides care for a broad spectrum of liver diseases including cirrhosis, liver transplantation, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), alcohol-related liver disease, viral hepatitis (including hepatitis B and C), hepatocellular carcinoma and choangiocarcinoma (liver cancer), autoimmune hepatitis, primary biliary cholangitis, primary sclerosing chlangitis, Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency, hemochromatosis, Wilson’s disease, and pregnancy related liver disease. We additionally perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), colonoscopy, endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), transient elastrography (Fibroscan), magnetic resonance elastography (MRE)  liver biopsy, and transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS). with a list of procedures we perform or coordinate and information on sub-specialty clinics that we operate for specific liver diseases that require coordinated care across multiple discipline. We also have multi-disciplinary hepatobiliary and alcohol-related liver disease clinics.
