Dr. Viprakasit specializes in all facets of kidney stone disease, from diagnosis and surgical treatment to medical prevention. He also has a clinical interest in new technologies for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia and bladder outlet obstruction. Through collaborations with the Division of Nephrology and Nutrition Services in the Department of Family Medicine, Dr. Viprakasit helped develop and serves as the Director of the Multidisciplinary Kidney Stone Program to address the kidney health concerns of high-risk patients.
Dr. Viprakasit’s research interests focus primarily on outcomes related to kidney stone surgery and utilization of preventive measures for stone recurrence. He also has a strong interest in medical teaching and was appointed Associate Residency Program Director for the Department of Urology in 2013.
