Congratulations to Jae Ho (Mike) Lee, an alumni graduate student in Dr. Griffith’s Lab, for having paper, titled “Bioprosthetic Aortic Valve Diameter and Thickness Are Directly Related to Leaflet Fluttering: Results from a Combined Experimental and Computational Modeling Study” accepted for publication in the journal JTCVS Open, the open-access mirror of the Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery.
Mike’s work, along with graduate student Robert Hunt and Boyce Griffith, Ph.D, Associate Professor of Mathematics and Adjunct Associate Professor of Applied Physical Sciences and Biomedical Engineering, demonstrates that bioprosthetic heart valves with smaller diameters and/or thicker leaflets generate higher fluttering frequencies in experimental and computational pulse duplicators.
