Congratulations to Ana Cartaya, a pharmacology graduate student, and Halle Lutz, an undergraduate student, both in the Bahnson Research Group, for publishing article, titled “Delivery of Cinnamic Aldehyde Antioxidant Response Activating nanoParticles (ARAPas) for Vascular Applications”, in the journal Antioxidants.
In this paper, Ms. Cartaya and Ms. Lutz developed a nanoformulation termed ARAPas capable of activating the transcriptional factor Nrf2, and studied how it can be delivered to vascular smooth muscle cells (SMC) via loading the particles into macrophages and macrophage-to-SMC cargo transfer. It is featured in Volume 10, Issue 5, of the journal Antioxidants and can be read online now.
