Congratulations to James Faber, Ph.D., Professor, for the receipt of R01 from National Institutes of Health National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NIH-NINDS) and for publishing papers on genetic and lifestyle risk factors for MRI-defined brain infarcts and risk factors for acute ischemic stroke caused by large vessel occlusion in the journals Neurology and Stroke, respectively. Dr. Faber received renewal of R01 grant from NIH-NINDS for his studies to investigate targeting the pial collateral circulation for mitigation of cerebral ischemia. It is a 5-year grant for $2.7 million. Dr. Faber’s papers are featured in the January, 2019 edition of Neurology and the March, 2019 edition of Stroke, respectively, and can be read online now.
