Conlon Lab and former post doc Chris Slagel, in collaboration with Ivan Moskowitz’s lab (University of Chicago), have a new publication in PNAS demonstrating that cardiac signaling is required for the initiation of lung formation in air breathing vertebrates: Evolutionarily conserved Tbx5–Wnt2/2b pathway orchestrates cardiopulmonary development.
