CongratulationsSophie Maiocchi, Ph.D.Congratulations to Sophie Maiocchi, Ph.D., a Leon and Bertha Golberg postdoctoral fellow in the Research Group of Edward Moreira Bahnson, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Department of Cell Biology & Physiology; Center for Nanothechnology in Drug Delivery; McAllister Heart Institute, for accepting a tenure-track assistant professor position at the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Wake Forest University School of Medicine.

Edward Moreira Bahnson, Ph.D.Dr. Maiocchi will be starting her independent Cardiovascular Nanomedicine Research Lab in November, 2023. Dr. Maiocchi joined the Bahnson Research Group in 2018, where she started working on targeted redox therapies for atherosclerosis. She then started developing an independent line to use cell-mediated delivery of biologics-containing nanoparticles as anti-thrombotic therapies. This work has led to a provisional patent application. Dr. Maiocchi has been instrumental in the success and development of the Bahnson Research Group. She has been an excellent mentee, colleague, and a great mentor to junior people in the lab. We will miss her, but we cannot be happier and more excited for her next step. At the Bahnson Research Group, we are all so very proud of you, Sophie!
