Congratulations to the lab of James Faber, Ph.D., Professor, Cell Biology & Physiology, for publishing paper, titled “Decreased inspired oxygen stimulates de novo formation of coronary collaterals in adult heart”, in the Journal of Molecular and Cellular Cardiology.
Their paper identifies that in a mouse strain lacking native coronary collaterals, hypoxia stimulates de novo formation of new collaterals, which allows vascular casting agent to retrogradely fill the left anterior descending artery after ligating it proximally (dashed line), and will be featured in the January, 2021 edition of the Journal of Molecular and Cellular Cardiology, which can be read online now.
