Kate Fread grew up in Cornelius, North Carolina and is a Junior majoring in Biology and minoring in Neuroscience at the University of North Carolina. Kate is learning and studying the viral protein-antibody interactions, diagnostics, therapeutics, and vaccines in Lakshmanane’s lab. After graduation, Kate plans on attending graduate school to further her studies of neuroscience and other biological research fields.
