Pradip grew up in the Himalayas. After completion of high school in Nepal, he moved to the U.S. to pursue higher education. Pradip received his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Southwest Minnesota State University. As an undergraduate researcher, he studied the role of bacterial protein (clfA) in an attachment to the host and its safety and efficacy in vaccine development against S. aureus. Shortly after graduation, Pradip joined HIV Prevention Trial Network (HPTN) Laboratory Core at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. During his time at Hopkins, he coordinated specimen management and testing of large clinical samples in support of multi-center, phase III clinical trials conducted by the HPTN Network. He gained an extensive first-hand experience and knowledge in Human Subject research by collaborating and coordinating translational clinical research among the researchers in the U.S. and internationally.

Pradip joined UNC Chapel-Hill in June 2023 in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology.
