Dr. Prem Lakshmanane received his Ph.D. in Structural Biology and Biological Chemistry from the Weizmann Institute of Science. He completed his postdoctoral training at the Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute and was a senior research fellow at the Institute for Molecular Bioscience, Queensland University. Dr. Lakshmanane joined UNC-Chapel Hill as an Assistant Professor and was later promoted to Associate Professor of Microbiology and Immunology. Dr. Lakshmanane’s laboratory participated in the NIH-funded North Carolina SeroNet Center of Excellence and the Centers for Research in Emerging Infectious Diseases (CREID) Network. Currently, the Lakshmanane laboratory is a member of the US NIH Research and Development of Vaccines and Monoclonal Antibodies for Pandemic Preparedness (ReVAMPP) Network.
