As Director of Doctoral Success and Scientific Outreach, Dr. Gaines provides comprehensive support to BBSP students by monitoring academic progress, offering tailored advising for those navigating specific challenges, and leading initiatives that foster community and a thriving research environment. She is dedicated to supporting international students by creating welcoming spaces, easing transitional challenges, and guiding them in their academic and career journeys. Dr. Gaines also oversees recruitment and professional development for postbaccalaureate programs and directs BioSTAR-sponsored summer programming for School of Medicine-affiliated interns. Additionally, she coordinates the Translational Medicine Training Program, which supports students engaged in clinically relevant research.
