Clinical and Research Interests
My clinical work focuses on gastrointestinal, head and neck, and thoracic pathology. I am particularly interested in studying gastrointestinal disorders affecting the pediatric population, and investigating predictive and prognostic markers in patients with newly diagnosed inflammatory bowel disease. I am also engaged in capacity development of pathology laboratories and diagnostic services in in low- and middle-income countries (LMIC), and hope to advance care of gastrointestinal, hepatic, and pancreaticobiliary malignancies through collaborative, translational studies supported by the UNC-Project Malawi Cancer Program.
