Graduate Research Assistant

Dina O’Connell is a graduate student under the direction of Dr. Charles M. Perou, studying the role of the immune system triple-negative breast cancer metastasis. Dina grew up in the Chicago suburbs and attended Case Western Reserve University, obtaining her bachelor’s degree in biology. After graduation, she worked for two years at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD as a postbaccalaureate research fellow, where she investigated mechanisms and therapeutic potential of PIKfyve inhibitors in treatment of cancer. Outside of the lab, Dina enjoys hiking, yoga, and disc golf!
