Samantha Beck is a PhD student studying HIV-associated lymphoma in the lab of Dr. Yuri Fedoriw. Originally from Pennsylvania, Sam graduated from Ursinus College with a B.S with honors in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, where she studied prion proteins in yeast. After college, she was a research assistant at Vanderbilt University, studying breast cancer metastasis. Sam came to UNC to compare the molecular patterns of different subgroups of patients with a disease using computational methods. Outside of the lab, she enjoys reading, practicing yoga and trying out new coffee shops.
