The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is pleased to welcome Dr. Alexandra Balaban to the department. Dr. Balaban joins us with expertise in breast pathology.
Dr. Balaban earned her B.S. in Mathematics with a minor in Computational Biology from Duke University and her M.D. from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She went on to complete her pathology residency at Duke University Hospital, followed by a Surgical Pathology Fellowship at Houston Methodist Hospital with a focus on breast and gynecologic pathology, a Cytopathology Fellowship at Duke, and advanced Breast/Gynecology Surgical Pathology fellowship training at Duke.
Dr. Balaban brings an active record of research, publications, and teaching, with experience educating medical students and residents and contributing to national meetings! Welcome Dr. Balaban!
